Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend Zoe and I did the traditional pumpkin patch experience.  She wanted every pumpkin, pointing to the all and saying “Bing dis?  Dis one?”  She pulled the red wagon around all by herself and was a pretty good driver.  She got a little one for herself, which she thought was a ball and threw it around the house until the stem broke.  I carved mine but it rotted yesterday; didn’t even make it to H’ween.  Daddy’s rotted before he got to carve it.  Guess with our crazy life we should have waited a few more days to buy them.

Still tackling the potty front.  She is big girl underwear all day except bedtime and stays dry.  The problem being that she doesn’t pee in the potty; She holds it until bedtime most days and goes in her diaper.  We were putting a diaper on at nap but now we are leaving her in panties and keeping our fingers crossed.   So far her records for holding it are 18hours and 11 hours!  She isn’t even uncomfortable acting, she runs and plays and even sits on the potty almost every time we ask her too.  I want her bladder control.  I think she stole mine.

Big Girl Bed

Well, we finally decided to make the big move to a big girl bed for Zoe.  She was very content in her crib, never trying to climb out, but just because of the shear volume of stuff she takes to bed with her, we thought this would be a good move for her.  We were very apprehensive to say the least.  Would she get out of bed and leave her room repeatedly?  Would she fall out and hurt her self?  Would she even like it?  But after much debate we settled on buying her a new white set of furniture and just using the guest bed we already had, which was a queen size!  We wanted something that would last several years and that we could lay with her in and a twin just didn’t seem to fit the bill.  So in a queen she went almost two weeks ago.

Here she is helping disassemble her crib

Her big girl bed at Grammie and Grandpa’s.  Yes, it is a yellow car and she loves it!

The move went pretty well.  She cries at night when we leave, but she doesn’t get out of the bed at all and she talks excitedly all day about getting to sleep in her big girl bed.

Thomas, Willy, Corn Maze and Trucks

Wow! Life has been crazy busy around here since fall arrived. Zoe has had a ton of things to keep her busy lately, here are just a few pics of what we have been up to.

Two weekends ago, my parents took her to Spencer NC to see Thomas the Train. She loves choo choos which is great news for her cousin Sean.

Then last Saturday we rode Willy again and petted their new bunny. She really did well riding this time and everyday we drive by she asks if she can ride again.

Last weekend also held a party out at the Corn Maze. Levine Cardiac Kids (the support group at our hospital) planned a day out at the local corn maze for all the kids. My parents joined us and we made it through the 2.5 miles of maze trails in 57 minutes. Zoe had fun because she got carried the entire way and we were all more than happy to make it out.

Last weekend also held the Touch-a-Truck festival at one the local parks.
They bring all kinds of service vehicles to let the kids climb all over. Zoe was a little overwhelmed with the crowd and the characters/mascots were very scary for her; Think Disney World is a few years off.

That is just part of our last 2 weeks, but that is enough for now. She also went to a party for the next door neighbors and, thanks to the fall weather, played outside until she was black with dirt. Wish I had that kind of energy.
