First Movie

Many of you that know us are aware of Lar’s addiction to movies.  He goes once (sometime twice) a week by himself to see movies.  I really don’t like to go; too crowded, too expensive, and mostly I would rather watch a movie on the couch in my pjs.  So as you can imagine, Lar has waited since the day she was born to take Zoe to a movie.  Well that day has come and we took her to see Toy Story 3 yesterday.  We wanted it to be a surprise so we picked her up from school early and told her then.  We went and she ate popcorn, drank coke, and ate candy and actually sat for most of the movie.  The last 40 minutes she lost interest but never asked to leave.  I think her Daddy is in heaven with his little girl growing up.

New Camera

For my birthday, my parents and Lar got me a new digital camera.  14.1 megapixel (my old one was 7) and it has some cool features.  I have been playing around with it and here are some examples of the fun stuff it can do.

Here is a cool way to single out a single color in your shot and leave the rest black and white.  I have always wanted to do this and before it was extremely time consuming with software.

This is called “fish eye”

It takes great outdoor shots in strong sunlight with washing out the whole picture

 

And it has a feature called “miniature” where you can get close ups and make things like out of proportion.  Here I am making stuffed grape leaves (a great Greek appetizer)

Miscellaneous May

We have been busy enjoying all the things summer brings us.  Here are some pics of a fun day at the park (just one of many each week), strawberry picking with a friend and a fun carnival.
