Ren Fest

October and November bring the Renaissance Festival to our town each year.  I have been before but decided Zoe would probably be big enough to go and spending the day there.  She did great and walked almost constantly for 4 hours.  She was exhausted at days end, so was mommy.  We rode a camel, watch some juggling shows, petted Mother Goose, listened to good music, watched a joust, and rode some rides.

This she told me a story and I wish I could have gotten the whole thing on film, but she was so animated, as you can tell

And the most awesome picture of all, Zoe and the Green Man.  He is a guy on stilts dressed up like a tree and though I thought she would be afraid, so was totally enamored with him.

Field Trip and Halloween

We started off the trick or treat season with a trunk or treat at her school.

On the 31st, we headed out to Carrigan Farms to have a fall field trip and pick up some pumpkins with Zoe’s school.  There are two dogs that live on the farm and they were the highlight of the day for kids, go figure.

And then the best part of the day……darkness = trick or treating

Zoe quote

Woman opens door after doorbell was rang. “Oh, who do we have here.  Sprider Woman?”

Zoe: “I AM NOT Spider Woman.  I AM Spider Girl.  I HAVE NOT gone through puberty yet!!”

Karate and Play dates

In April Daddy received his 1st degree black belt and as part of the journey to 2nd degree (only a short 2 years away….aye aye aye) he his to test every 6months to show he is learning the skills needed.  So he went in Oct to test for the first midterm (why they call it mid term when there are about 4 or 5 of these on the way to 2nd degree, don’t know).

Play dates are a must during this nice weather to keep the munchkins under control.  We are very lucky to have several great friends and playmates from Zoe’s class at school.
